Biology Essay Arctic Wolf Behaviour. Contrary to popular belief regarding its harsh habitat and the much-publicized climate change, the endangerment status of the internship essay, arctic wolf is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN and WWF, and, in fact, it is exactly due to their unforgiving environment that the arctic wolf is one of the only subspecies of wolf that is unthreatened, as it leaves them relatively safe from human activities such as hunting and habitat destruction (with the possible exception of global warming and climate change). We will write a custom essay sample. on Biology Essay Arctic Wolf Behaviour or any similar. topic specifically for you. Due to the species abundance, as well as their unique and rare natural habitat, there has been much discussion as to the morality of keeping arctic wolves in captivity as the conditions and temperature are generally vastly different and ill-suited compared to teacher, their natural habitats. Illustration 1 Arctic Wolf populated area Contrary to regular zoo custom of portraying the captive animals as active, carefree, and happy, the wolf pack we studied in Schonbrunn proved to internship, be a rather sad and discouraging sight. Generally speaking, the wolves were not very active at essays all and spent much of the time lying on high ground, though there is a very good chance that our misfortune regarding the wolves (lack of) activity lies in the fact that they are an arctic species, and as such, would favour arctic conditions, and would be that much more affected by the warm, summery weather that we had on the day we went to internship, the Zoo, especially seeing as there was no sign of any kind of facility or modification to their enclosure that would provide a kind of faux-arctic environment and weather/temperature, for essays example, in the scorching Viennese summer when it is not uncommon for the temperature to reach up to 35 ? Celsius (as opposed to temperatures of well under -30 ? C which are common in the Canadian tundra). Nonetheless, what little activity we did witness on our trip was just as discouraging as their lack of internship essay activity.

Although we were unable to attend the nursing papers, feeding of the wolves, there were still a few pieces of untouched meat lyingon the ground. In light of the wolves inactivity and obvious weakness for heat, we took this as a sign that the wolves usually sizable appetite was affected and overridden by their weakness to internship, the heat; that they were too hot to onegin essay, eat. Page 2 Biology Essay Arctic Wolf Behaviour Essay. Internship Essay? Their inability to handle high temperatureswas quite apparent from the very start, as they were quite often sticking their tongues out and breathing heavily while walking/lying on the ground; something dogs often do when they get hot in the summer in order to and composition, cool themselves. Regarding their enclosure, we found out from a zookeeper that the terrain in it was not quite ideal. Internship Essay? The wolves had plenty of logs and pieces of wood scattered about tipes of essay them so that it would resemble a forest and to make it more interesting for them to range the essay, enclosure, but the terrain itself was actually too steep, as the enclosure was built into the side of the hill in the Schonbrunn Zoo.

This means that the wolves are actually unable to make use of the logs to philosophie, jump over essay, when they are active in order to emulate their behaviour in nature, and amuse themselves, and, in effect, it reduced their area, as some parts were too steep to onegin essay, walk over, and made the bottom half very unappealing to them (especially as most of it was walled off by the small observers hut, in effect disabling them from looking outside their enclosure from half of the internship, bottom part). When the nursing papers, wolves did come down to the fence, they did not appear to essay, be fazed or unnerved by the observers, and, indeed, they did not show any signs of being affected by a relatively large audience. As for their societal structure, we were able to discern it fairly quickly due to the packs behaviour. They had a clear leader (alpha male) around which the pack was centered and whom they followed and obeyed. The alpha was slightly bigger than the other wolves, and was markedly more active and lively, as he was often standing on and pacing around the platform in the middle of the enclosure. Unfortunately though, we were also able to differentiate a wolf that seemed to be the omega (outcast/low-rank wolf) of the pack, as evidenced by onegin essay his always being slightly more separated and distanced from the essay, rest of the and composition essays, pack, often pacing around the lower fencing, as if he was trying to find a way out, though this was not particularly unusual as other members of the pack often emulated such distress behaviour, where they were constantly pacing back and orth aimlessly at a brisk pace, as if they were nervous and/or frightened. Overall, this behaviour is generally different to their natural behaviour in the wild. Essay? The most obvious and perhaps important difference is that, as illustrated in the previous map, the arctic wolf requires territories of up to 1000mi2, due to the scarcity of onegin essay prey so far north, and is known to travel up to several hundred kilometres in a day in search of food. Obviously, this is a tremendous difference to the behavior we were able to observe on our trip, where the wolves spent most of the time lying on the ground or pacing around the enclosure in order to cool themselves.

Their diet in the wild consists primarily of Peary Caribou and internship, Muskox, which differs from the horse, beef, or mutton that they are usually fed in the zoo. Since arctic wolves have very rarely been hunted or came into nursing papers, contact with humans in the wild, they, unlike most wolves, do not fret to come closer to internship essay, humans and do not appear to overly cautious or aggressive. While this is in dissertation philosophie, accordance to the behaviour we observed in internship essay, the zoo, it is ap language and composition, likely that other animals in prolonged captivity would also adapt to constant human presence, and as such, we cannot attribute this to being their natural behaviour, as they are likely to have further gotten used to essay, constant visitors and onlookers over time. Tipes Of Essay? Naturally, arctic wolves also have a high tendency to howl as a pack, which is mainly a way of celebration after a successful hunt/feeding, a means to unite the pack, protect their territory, and a way for the alpha to rally the pack together. Unfortunately, we were not able to witness such behaviour in the zoo, as they were most likely put off by the environment, were too demoralized and/or exhausted by the heat, or simply had no need for it at the time. Essay? Seeing as the wolves are having a very hard time adapting to the environment of the zoo, based off of our observations, there would have to be made several modifications and adaptations to their enclosure. Write? First and foremost is the aforementioned problem of the weather and internship essay, temperature in their enclosure. Write Claims? The wolves were clearly affected by it, as even the alpha male had his tongue out in internship essay, order to cool himself for 10 straight minutes, followed later by regularly taking it back in, and sticking it out again after about 4-5 minutes in essay of a teacher, short bursts. As the wolves as a packed moved for about 100m in total during our visit, and were mostly sitting idly on internship essay the ground, the entirety of the short on role of a, pack had significant issues dealing with the high temperature, therefore requiring modifications to internship, be made to their enclosure. The entirety of the enclosure would have to be moved slightly underground, similarly to the penguins section, in order to allow a cooling system to be implemented from the ceiling or walls of the enclosure, so that the wolves have fresh, cold air and temperature, more akin to their natural habitat. There would also have to be another adjacent section in the open, so that the wolves are not confined within one single room, as this would be as much a detriment to their health and spirits as the high temperatures.

Hence, it would be optimal if the air from within the cool, enclosed part of their section could be circulated out into the open section as well. Furthermore, going back to dissertation sur l'amour, the fact that the wolves have moved by essay what we estimated to be 100m during our observations, there need to be modifications made that would stimulate the wolves to nursing papers, run more, in order to keep them from being bored, and help them become more active. Internship Essay? One way this could be achieved is through a simulation vaguely resembling a hunt: an instance of operant conditioning. Onegin Essay? A treadmill, which would have to be adapted to suit wolves, would need to be installed in the enclosure, and when a wolf reaches a certain distance, they would be rewarded with a piece of meat, or another such incentive. Although this would of course not be natural to them, it would provide a way of keeping the wolves active and happier, thus healthier as well, as it would try to emulate their behaviour in the wild, in which they are known to run hundreds of internship kilometres a day in search of food. As with scores of other species, there is an ongoing debate as to the morality and ethicality of tipes of essay keeping arctic wolves in captivity, especially considering their unique and un-replicable natural habitat, and the fact that there is no need for it due to their unthreatened status. Arctic wolves are a welcome addition to every zoo due to their rarity in most countries, and perceived threatened status. The general animal rights opinion on this matter is that it is morally correct to keep animals in captivity if it is in order to preserve the internship, species, however, as this is not the case with the write claims, arctic wolf, most animal rights conventions lean towards the judgment that is in fact unethical to keep them in zoos. The argument for this hinges mainly on two main points: the animal rights, and animal welfare points. * The first point, which considers the rights and freedom of animals while taking into account their treatment and status, supports the notion that this is immoral. The animal rights question depends on three factors: the treatment nd use of animals to achieve some human end, treatment of animals with the internship, proper respect and violation of the tipes of essay, animals right to live in freedom.

Although, from what we could discern on our trip, the internship essay, animals were treated with the 2005, outmost respect by the visitors and the staff, the animals behaviour led us to internship essay, believe that they were quite unhappy in the zoo, thus violating their right to freedom in ap language and composition 2005, their natural habitat, as they were not content within their confines. Furthermore, the very fact that the wolves are present in the zoo despite their limited freedom and obvious unhappiness is internship essay, a testament to the fact that wolves are indeed being kept for human gain, as the onegin essay, wolves themselves do not appear to want to be in the zoo itself, and their lives are far more limited and dull. The second point, which considers the welfare of the animals in captivity, depends on factors such as the likeness and size of the enclosure in comparison to their natural habitat, the social structure of the species in the zoo, the proximity to humans and other species which may be unusual for the species in question, the animals activity in the zoo, and quality of life regardless of the potential life span in captivity. Essay? As was aforementioned, the physical surroundings of their enclosure were vaguely resembling that of the typical habitat of arctic wolves, though naturally disregarding the snow and cold, and were relatively small for a whole pack of wolves. Even though the essays 2005, actual social hierarchy of the wolf pack seemed akin to essay, that of arctic wolves in the wild, there is nursing papers, definitely an issue regarding the proximity to and contact with humans, as arctic wolves rarely ever come into contact with human beings, and thus are unused to them. Although arctic wolves in captivity can live up to 20 years, compared to only 7 in the wild, from our observations, it is apparent that the quality of the wolves lives was very poor, when one takes into internship essay, consideration their limited freedom, lack of activities, and vastly different and tipes of essay, unfavorable conditions for a large part of the year, namely, the internship, hot Viennese springs and summers. Henceforth, a clear conclusion can be made that it is in fact unethical to keep arctic wolves in nursing papers, captivity, as, asides from a longer lifespan, all of the discussed factors have a negative impact on the wolves life, as the conditions differ greatly from their natural habitat, and forces the internship essay, animals to re-adapt to write claims, their new environment completely, all for internship essay human gain. Again, due to their species status, which is perceived by dissertation philosophie many to internship, be threatened, arctic wolves can potentially be a very popular attraction in a zoo, thus having a comparatively significant economic impact. Although it is unlikely that the arctic wolves by themselves would bring many visitors to the zoo, they can certainly be one of the few highlights of the zoo, helping to bring in dissertation philosophie, more visitors.

The visitors will naturally have to internship, pay for ap language and composition tickets to enter the zoo, and are more than likely to have further expenses in essay, the zoo, such as buying souvenirs, refreshments, or going for a meal to one of the restaurants at a zoo, thus generating income for the zoo and the various affiliated restaurants, vendors, and shops over a period of time. In return, this money is invested in the maintenance of and dissertation philosophie, improvements to the zoo, helping maintain the quality of the enclosures and improve them. Furthermore, since the wolves and essay, other species in general yield litters of more pups due to the technological help from the veterinarian specialists, the zoo can sell the pups to other zoos and institutions, which, though not ethical, can serve to improve its budget, and will not be as harmful to the wolf, since it will not have known any other habitat or way of life, and will adapt to it more easily. In addition to this, the zoo will get taxed by the government of the country, thus also helping, however slightly, the nations economy and budget. Overall, in my observation of the arctic wolves, I have found that their behaviour in captivity differs significantly from that which can be expected from them in the wild.

The major issues are the greatly unfavourable temperature and continental climate of Vienna, which brings scorching summers of up to 30-35 degrees celcius, which are nigh unbearable for ap language the arctic wolves, who are accustomed to degrees of as low as -35 degrees, as well as the fact that the internship essay, wolves movement and freedom has been incredibly limited in comparison to their territories of up to 1000 square miles, essentially leaving them unable to exercise and dissertation philosophie, keeping them from doing any meaningful activities. Unfortunately, any possible modifications that could be made to better accommodate the wolves are highly unlikely to be realized, as they would require a complete overhaul and replacement of the internship, wolves enclosure, which would cost a lot of money to construct, and is not worth it for the zoo. Regarding the wolves economic impact, they are a most welcome addition to any zoo due to onegin essay, their rarity and isolated habitat, as well as the internship, fact that they are a safe bet to attract visitors, as wolves are a very popular species with children of all ages, thus ensuring a steady indirect revenue from their presence in the zoo. How To Write? Ultimately, however, the very presence of wolves in captivity is immoral and unethical, as there is internship, no threat to on role of a, them or other cause that merits their being kept in captivity and under conditions that are obviously detrimental to their physical health and happiness, and are kept in zoos solely for the profit of humans. Unfortunately, however, this is unlikely to internship, change any time soon, for as hard as animal rights activists try, zoos and other organizations and short, groups that profit from the arctic wolves are adamant in continuing to run their businesses as they wish, as long as there are no laws preventing them from essay, doing so, leaving us only with a hope that, over time, the conditions of the onegin essay, wolves and other animals in zoos the world over will be at least improved to the point where they are as comfortable and happy in their enclosures as is possible, and suffer no consequences from being in captivity.

Accordingly, (nice word that) the people who set the exam tend to choose relatively everyday topics the sort of topics all educated people should be able to speak and write about in their own language. So one obvious way to essay, prepare for the exam is to practise writing and speaking about these topics.

They are: While the topics are predictable enough, the how to claims, actual questions are invariably extremely precise. Again, there is also a good reason for this: the examiners do not want you to learn an essay, they want to test your English and see if you can answer a precise question, rather than produce a general answer to a general topic. Remember that in the exam these words are always included: Give reasons for your answer and essay, include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

Another good question. There is no definite right or wrong answer here. But let me give you a few guidelines. One of the things the examiner is looking for is a clear point of view sustained throughout the essay. Accordingly, it makes sense to state your point of view clearly in the introduction. Internship Essay! This way it makes it easy for the examiner to see what you are doing. The one problem with this approach is that it makes your conclusion slightly harder to write, as you have already given your answer in the introduction. That much said, you can still wait until the essay on role of a, conclusion to give your own personal opinion after looking at both sides of the argument. This is perhaps the slightly more academic approach and essay, makes for a better balanced essay normally.

If you do take this approach, my advice would be to onegin essay, state clearly in the introduction that you are going to look at both sides of the issue first before giving your personal opinion. would there be a difference in the essay outline or format if the question is essay do you agree or disagree and to what extent do you agree or disagree? or same approach could be used? thanks so much! God bless? you! This is a good question and dissertation sur l'amour, I apologise for not answering sooner. The short answer is that there is no major difference of approach required. If the question was Do you agree or disagree? Then you can still answer in your conclusion that There are strong arguments on both sides of the issue, but I tend to think that ie you can always agree to some extent. Likewise, if the internship, question is To what extent then you can still fully agree or fully disagree. Are there any sample question papers of writing?

What about a discussion? Is the another format to write it or it can also be considered as a for and against essay teacher essay? To What Extent should be answered by choosing arguments to internship essay, support one of 3 major stances: to a great extent, to a certain extent / to some extent, or to a lesser extent. Nursing Papers! The question is asking for a measurement. I have been experienced some issues about how to internship, understand the main question whenever I come accross to what extent do you agree or disagree? For example: Creative artists should always be given the freedom to tipes of essay, express their own ideas (in words, pictures, music or film) in whichever way they wish. There should be no government restrictions on what they do. To what extent do you agree or disagree?(Cambridge IELTS 4) Is it OK if I say that the main question is essay Does government restrict freedom of speech? As you said before, whats the use of writting a good essay if you are not answering the question, but, how are we going to be sure that we have understood the onegin essay, hidden argument? Thanks in advance!

A really good question. One possible problem is that the question comes in 2 parts. This is really quite common in IELTS. If you do get a question like this, you need to make certain that you answer both parts of the question. in your example. That is not really the case as the they in There should be no government restrictions on what they do clearly links to internship, the creative artists in the first sentence. So your reformulation does not work as it does not relate to creative artists. In practical terms, my best suggestion is to ap language, underline key words in the question to make sure that you do not miss them out.

one thing that why ielts exam performance sheet is not provided to candidate after result . beacuse if a candidate is not scoring the bands more than 5 or 5.5 then after knowing mistakes a person will able to correct it in next exam. How do we respond an essay essay that asks for our opinion ? Do we simply give our views all the way through? No one answer to dissertation sur l'amour, this. All I would say is that you should make sure that any opinions are backed up with reasons/examples. If you do this, your essay will not just be all opinion even if every paragraph contains opinion. Can I please ask you two questions? Many people told me that I am not suppose to use I , we and you things like that in essay my writting.

But I noticed you actually use them quite often. does that mean I could use these words in onegin essay my writting? Also, how to overcome umfamiliar topics? I feel one of the most frustrate thing is to think out ideas. I never can produce an essay in a limited time. I guess the problem for me is I do not have opinions at all. do you have any good suggestion about this? PS : I am going to have my IELTS exam this 29th, urgently need your advice! ;-))) There are no hard and internship, fast rules here. But it would certainly be a mistake to overuse personal pronouns in ap language and composition your writing. Internship Essay! It is 2005 entirely possible for candidates to use one example based on internship essay, their knowledge and another based on their experience: this satisfies both the rubric and write claims, the grading criteria. Candidates can choose between the two options and internship essay, are not restricted to one or the other: if that were the case, the rubric would read either knowledge or experience. What has not happened is that the new rubric has invented a new dichotomy between knowledge-based and experience-based essays. Incidentally, the rubric was changed to nursing papers, put the emphasis on the task itself and to internship, delete complicated language such as written argument. The idea is supposed to simple and nursing papers, the key to understanding the new rubric is that it explicitly asks candidates to be relevant in their examples and essay, that these support the main points. In many countries schools have severe problems with student behaviour. What do you think ar the essay, causes of this? What solutions can you suggest? One of the most important problem in the schools is the student behaviour. Nursing Papers! In fact it is known that in many countries episodes of internship essay vandalism, disrespect or bullism are frequent in the schools. This issue should be handled particularly carefully, because we have not to forget that the school has to prepare the students to become responsible adult.

It is therefore very important to individuate the onegin essay, causes and the possible solutions to be applied, in order for the school to fullfill its educational role in internship essay the best way. We should take into account the basic fact that no one has a bad behaviour only for the reason to be bad. Often those behaviours are the expressions of other, hidden problems. Essay On Role Of A Teacher! One of the main cause could be the stress that the essay, students frequently have to face in dissertation philosophie the school. Internship! Exams, homeworks, presentations for short essay on role of a teacher, many subjects put an incredible pressure over the students, that sometimes will be incapable of handling the internship essay, stress. Onegin Essay! Bad behaviour thus manifests itself has a rebellion against the stress, a hidden stop it shout. Nevertheless it is my opinion that the main source of bad behaviour of students is to be found outside the school, namely in the private life of the students. Internship! With both my parents being teachers, I know with certainity that an instable family environment is very often the sur l'amour, cause of arrogant and generally bad behaviour. Where the kids are left alone or treated bad by their family members, they can end up manifesting their anger at the school, during the lessons or in the corridors. Those problems suggest their solutions. The amount of internship essay stress to sur l'amour philosophie, which the essay, students are underponed should be carefull analyzed by short the teachers and accurately be revised and adjusted.

The task is of course not easy, because a certain amount of essay stress is inevitable, is the quality of the school has to be preserved. Regarding family problems, it is my firm convinction that child that were raised (or still are) in instable family environment should be followed carefully by expers, such as psyhcologists and pedagogists, and sustained by teachers, in onegin essay order to allow them to retrieve their happiness and bring their life back on the tracks. Summarizing, students can answer to exagerate stress acting bad: thus the solution is to internship essay, carefully control and adjust the pressures on the students. A more important cause of sur l'amour philosophie problematic behaviour is the family where student lives, that can already be a source of problems and internship essay, instability. Tipes Of Essay! Students should be therefore sustained by expers in their personal issues. (you can answer me via email if you want) Sorry for the delay. Internship! As someone who holds a masters in philosophy, I would be delighted if you could enlighten me as to exact distinction between them.

I feel perfectly certain that 100% of IELTS examiners would be unable to split that particular epistemological hair. I believe you will find that or enables candidates to do both. The purpose of rephrasing the rubrics was to make them more accessible if you read the short essay of a teacher, source papers. The purpose was not to introduce a new challenge to candidates. sir, i personally think that words i , we , you should be eschewed from task one along with copying the internship, introduction from the statement of question (from task 2 as well) and sole emphasis should be laid on grouping the subject matter and comparisons . This is what i ask my students to do . Eschewed! a long time since I saw that word used in earnest. Short Essay! I see your point about you and I in task 1, but cannot agree with you about we. Your website is of great help for those who want to take IELTS #128521;

I just want to ask you this question: Other cultures highly value old people, while others value young people. Discuss both opposing views and give your opinion. I wanted to internship, ask you a question about the ap language essays, IELTs and in partictular about paragraphs. When I did my ielts test, I finished the internship essay, writing task 2, and left one line empty between each paragraph. However, when I wrote the and composition essays 2005, conclusion, I left 4-5 empty lines and then started the conclusion.

I did this because I was sort of running out of time, and internship essay, didnt know if I wanted to add anything else in tipes of essay the last paragraph( the internship essay, one before conclusion. so it looked a bit like this. Do you thing this will affect the mark I get? No, I very much doubt it- examiners are intelligent people. I am really grateful to you as I only prepared for my IELTS examination from this website and I got band 8 in all modules except writing where I got 7.5. You are awesome. In simply words . Yes you should choose a type of essay argument the ap language, main factor. i m so confused which book to choose for preparing ielts so plz woud u like to suggest me which book to internship essay, study. After I initially commented I clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment. Is there any means you possibly can remove me from that service? Thanks! Sorry there is nothing I can do about that as I do not have details of that service.

I can only suggest that you move the post to how to write claims, spam!! Congrats on your blog. One question thou, some literature state there are 4 different types of essays instead of the 3 types you mention in your blog, these are: Do you agree with this? if so, when we have a to what extent do you agree or disagree type of question, which kind of essay will that be from the 4 types mentioned above?x. Hmmmm. I do need to go back to that post. Internship Essay! The division you maker does make sense. In truth though I increasingly wonder how helpful it is to categorise different essay types rather than just looking at nursing papers the particular question in front of essay you and answering the question as it is asked. I say this because I feel some candidates get trapped by write claims trying to essay, follow a particular formula. I will put this on my to do list.

Thank you for ap language and composition essays, your comment. firstly thanks for the effort you have made for us.anyway i am having problem in differentiating between agree/disgree and to what extent do you agree/disagree..i have seen essays written both by discussing both topic in 4 paragrpah model and also taking only essay one position.does the topic content make difference on choosing the format of onegin essay such essay? Good question. You will find advice that gives you quite strict guidelines on internship, how to answer different question types -setting out write formulae/formulas for each type of internship essay question. I am never really convinced by that approach, I much prefer the approach of looking at each question on its own merits and focussing on and composition essays, answering the question as it is asked. I realise that that may not seem particularly helpful, so here is my general advice.

The introduction and essay, conclusion are the areas where you need to focus on addressing the question and giving your clear answer to it. So in those paragraphs you need to outline your your position in onegin essay relation to the question and give your answer. Even if the question is do you agree?, it is open to you to internship, say I agree but only up to onegin essay, a point. The content paragraphs are where you introduce the reasons for internship essay, your point of view. Typically, the ap language and composition essays 2005, academic thing to do is to look at both sides of the issue even if you have a strong opinion for one point of view.

This can work with almost IELTS agree/disagree type questions. Certainly, with my own students, I encourage them to look at both sides of the internship, issue, as for them IELTS is simply a passport to academic courses at tipes of essay university and I want them to learn the skills of academic writing. That said, it is open to you to take just one position and argue that on condition that you outline this is your introduction and the question does not ask you to look at both sides of the question. Hello, I was just wondering is there any difference in scoring of academic and short essay on role teacher, general writing ? I felt, the essay, vocab section in academic test , requires more academic words. If not, candidates will not score a 7 or 8 in it (. ). And Composition! And what about agree or disagree / positive or negative types questions? Is it necessary to internship, stick with one side in the opinion paragraph? ie; 2 positive points and 1 negative point.

Can I still conclude it as positive ? Logically, it doesnt make sense as the negative side would nullify one of the positive effects, wouldnt it? Could we go like it may be positive in this case ( if the question is is this positive or negative)? Why many students are not getting 9 in task response? Generally, they said I should not use 1st 2nd like I, U, should use negative voice. What do you think about this opinion? Good question.

Mostly the tipes of essay, recycled product is come from the home wastages, but nowadays concerned department are claiming that waste material from home is essay not properly enough as it should be.

Some people of the society believe that it is the negligence of people that waste material are not receiving enough by tipes of essay the concerned organization from the society, therefore, they believe that a legislation should be passed for making it a legal requirement. As far as my opinion is concerned there should be a law for recycling, but, it is internship essay also the responsibility of the society and media as well. Organizations for recycling are doing their job in nursing papers a proper manner. They collected every garbage from the street even from the internship, gutters as well. In contrast, residents of the society are not participating with the recycling workforce; moreover, it happens due to lack of awareness in sur l'amour philosophie people for the importance of recycling garbage. Secondly, there is the negligence factor as well in the society in essay participating with recycling department. For instance, people throw their house waste material into ap language and composition, their dustbins without separating the recycled material from the un-recycled material. Even a recently conducted survey revealed the fact that the 50% materials which can be recycled are wasted because they are not separated from the non-recyclable material by the residents of the society. Secondly, citizens of the society are not giving enough importance in essay the recycling of wastage, therefore, government should pass the legislation that garbage should be separated as recycled and non-recycled wastage, moreover, people should pack that recyclable product and put them in a separate box instead of throwing in the dustbin. Dissertation Sur L'amour Philosophie! In addition, government should also penalize those people who are not obeying the law. Therefore, these acts restrict the citizens to internship essay, follow the law and help the recycling department to get as much garbage as the nursing papers, organizations wanted to recycle.

After viewing above all discussion, it would lead me to conclude on internship essay, the note that people should feel the importance material and legislation should be passed for waste material. These kind of acts would be enough to enhance the proportion of waste material. [] Sample essay questions and sample essays []

Issues In Supporting Inclusion In Primary School. Inclusion in the educational system affirms the obligation for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to essay, be educated alongside their peers in mainstream classes. But inclusion of pupils with SEN in onegin essay mainstream schools remains challenging even as the current climate and the future focus more on an inclusive culture. Inclusive practice puts the onus on the mainstream teacher to provide an environment to cater for essay pupils of diverse abilities. Even though the Department of Education and Science in Ireland (DES) recommends an inclusive system of education for pupils with SEN, many are still being withdrawn from short essay on role of a teacher, their class for supplementary teaching. The Learning Support Guidelines promotes class room based learning through alternative groupings and recommend shared teaching approaches in the pupils' classroom. For pupils with SEN, ideally the provision of supplementary teaching is through in-class support where professional development is seen as prerequisite in helping teachers to effectively support pupils with SEN but teacher knowledge, expertise and training show great deficiencies and essay inadequacies. To maintain a successful inclusive environment and to meet the needs of all pupils, teachers need on-going CPD (continual professional development) in models of ap language, in-class support. The aim for every teacher is to develop, refine and maintain practices that address these needs. Differentiation is the pedagogic key to internship essay, successful curricular inclusion for pupils with SEN.

Moving from a culture of total faith in and reliance on withdrawal to in-class support will require great collaboration among all teachers and a whole-school approach to SEN. This assignment deals with the issues and dilemmas associated with reaching the of a teacher ideal of in-class support for learning with SEN in the mainstream primary classroom. Essay. In my own school I do a lot of in-class support teaching and I am hopeful that this study will help me to focus my attention on the in-class models most suitable for promoting the learning of pupils with SEN pupils. Short Essay. The overall aim of this study is to explore the issues associated with inclusion of pupils with SEN in mainstream classrooms, where inclusion focuses on in-class support as opposed to the more traditional and internship out-moded practice of onegin essay, withdrawal. My intention is to develop my own knowledge and understanding of relevant literature so that in the context of my own school I will be well informed in advising and working alongside other practitioners. To address this aim I have set myself a number of questions, answers to which will inform policy and essay practice in my own school: 1. What is the national, official policy on inclusion in Irish primary schools?

2. What is contemporary research literature saying about what inclusion is and how to achieve it? In particular, what counts as effective inclusion? 3. What would constitute effective differentiation and assessment practice in an inclusive in-class model of support for tipes of essay learning with SEN? 4. What are the barriers for teachers in adopting effective inclusion practices in mainstream primary school classes? Throughout the assignment I will draw out the implications for my context in my own primary school. Mindful of these questions I will begin by examining the development of inclusion in essay education in Ireland. I will outline current policy on inclusion with special reference to government legislation and policy, and I will explore the links across research, policy and practice. Bearing in essay of a mind question two above, I will then review relevant international and national research on inclusion and highlight some of the debates and issues associated with definitions and practices of inclusion.

Taking account of question three I will focus particularly on the themes of differentiation and assessment and review key research that offers practical strategies for the promotion of in-class inclusion. Finally, I will discuss the implications for wider policy on inclusion in my own school. Overview of SEN Provision in Ireland: Policy and Legislation (Question 1 above) When the first remedial teacher was appointed to an Irish primary school in 1963 there was no official national policy on remedial education. The focus on internship SEN policy began in 1988 when the Irish government produced the Guidelines on Remedial Education (1988).

Other influential developments in the 1990s were two important reports- the Special Education Review Committee Report (SERC Report) in 1993 and the Survey of Remedial Education in Irish Primary Schools Report (SRE Report) in 1998. These reports paved the way for the Education Act in tipes of essay 1998 requiring mainstream schools to essay, identify and provide for pupils with SEN and requiring the Minister for Education and Science to provide both the appropriate support services and quality of education to people with disabilities or other SEN. An objective of the Education Act (p. 5) is 'to make provision, in the interests of the common good for the education of every person in the state, including any person with a disability or who has other special educational needs'. In its definition of disability (p. 6) it included terms of learning differently and using different thought processes. The Education for Persons with Special Educational Needs (EPSEN) Act in 2004 (p 36/37) gave a similar definition of write, SEN as: a restriction in the capacity of the person to participate in, and benefit from, education on account of an enduring physical, sensory, mental health or learning disability, or any other condition which results in a person learning differently from a person without that condition and cognate words shall be construed accordingly. The Learning-Support Guidelines (2000) were developed in response to the findings and recommendations of the SRE report. They set out the aims of essay, learning support education and provided practical advice for schools on the organisation of a positive school environment for nursing papers children with SEN. Griffin and Shevlin (2007), note the significance of these developments in moulding the statutory structure of the 2004 EPSEN Act where and where the essay duties and responsibilities of school personnel and boards of management for SEN are outlined.

This act, which holds schools responsible for SEN provision and management through its outline of the roles and responsibilities of school personnel and onegin essay management and rights of internship, parents, is concerned with the formation and implementation of education plans for children with assessed SEN. Essays 2005. It set up an independent agency funded by the state, the essay National Council for Special Education (NCSE) whose function is to plan and co-ordinate the provision of support services to pupils for SEN using an sur l'amour inclusive approach to education. As education policies worldwide focus on inclusion national developments in Ireland reacted and responded accordingly. Essay. International policy recommends a mainstream model where all children can learn together over claims, segregated provision. Space prevents a full discussion here but it is noteworthy that the most influential is the Salamanca Statement (UNESCO, 1994) which advocated inclusion of all abilities. Subsequently, the Dakar Statement (UNESCO, 2000) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities (UN 2006), (two reports which have not been adopted in all countries) along with many EU policy documents and OECD reports refer to the possibilities of including all learners in essay mainstream education providing education based on equality, citizenship and individual and tipes of essay societal well-being. Drudy and Kinsella (2009) believe that, in response to international and European policies, Irish educational policy changed significantly in the legislative and essay policy framework for the education of children with SEN since the end of the essay on role 1990s. Swan (2000) described the essay provision of SEN in Ireland passing through three stages- the stage of neglect and on role teacher denial; the stage of the special school; and the stage of integration and inclusion. The development and essay implementation of inclusive practices in Irish education is supported by current legislation. The present policy of the DES is to provide the greatest level of inclusion in tipes of essay mainstream primary and post-primary schools and when this is not possible the DES provides for them through special schools and internship special classes based in mainstream settings. In the past pupils with SEN attended special schools or classes resulting in isolation from their peers.

But recently this segregated special schooling has been less favoured and more children with SEN are being educated alongside their peers in mainstream schooling causing a huge increase (41% in the 5 years to 2003, National Disability Act, 2005, cited in Drudy and Kinsella 2009), in the number of pupils with disabilities being educated in mainstream schools and a comparable decrease in the number of pupils in special schools. The development of inclusive practices in Irish education over the last decade was influenced by the SERC Report 1993, advocating a continuum of nursing papers, education provision for children with SEN, favouring integration over segregation; and proposing basic principles to internship, guide the future development of SEN provision, one of which was that appropriate education for all children with SEN should be provided in ordinary schools, unless individual circumstances made this impracticable. The Education Act (1998) recognises the nursing papers right of essay, pupils with a disability or SEN to education and onegin essay allow for the appropriate support services and quality of education to fulfil this requirement. Two later acts, the Equal Status Act (2000-2004), and internship essay the Education Welfare Act (2000), both recommend inclusion in mainstream classes and essay of a teacher full participationy in school life. DES circular 24/03 also shows commitment to inclusion as it recognises that pupils with SEN often learn at a different pace and in a different way from the rest of the class. Internship. The DES stresses that these pupils need to belong to a peer group and to mixed ability groups in a variety of situations. Even though the research on mixed ability teaching illustrates that children of lower ability benefit greatly and children of average or above ability are not academically disadvantaged (Hallam et al, 2004) the DES is aware that in recent years the practice has developed of using resource hours on a withdrawal basis for nursing papers individual tuition only. The DES states that an exclusive reliance on this approach conflicts with the essay principle of integration and inclusion. King (2006) confirms this as she says that 87.5% of resource/learning support teachers continue to use withdrawal to deliver specialist supplementary teaching to children with SEN. Short On Role Of A Teacher. King attributes this to the lack of teacher knowledge and training around in-class support systems. The 2004 EPSEN Act provides the statutory basis for the inclusion of children with SEN within the educational system.

It requires that children with SEN be educated alongside their peers in internship essay an inclusive environment unless it is 'inconsistent with the best interests of the child' (s.2, p.7). It sees inclusive education as a means to assisting children with SEN to participate in short essay of a teacher society and to live independent and essay fulfilled lives as adults. It also outlines assessment procedures for children with SEN and ensures provision of appropriate interventions and services. Currently the DES provides a continuum of support for short teacher children with SEN in mainstream schooling involving classroom based supports for internship essay mild needs or individualised support for ap language essays more complex needs. Currently, in Ireland, the DES provides three main types of internship essay, educational systems to meet the diverse needs. They are: ' Mainstream classes: supported by resource teaching, special needs assistance and learning support; ' Special classes in mainstream schools: currently 12% of mainstream schools have special classes. (NCCA, 2013a); and. ' Special schools: currently only 1% of children with SEN are enrolled in special schools, (NCCA, 2013a). At the core of inclusion is the principle that children with special or additional learning needs or disability belong in mainstream education. To be an inclusive school, therefore, means that the school accommodates the needs of all children and welcomes diversity as a way to enrich learning for all in the school community. By providing the tipes of essay appropriate networks of support children with SEN are enabled to participate fully in the life and work of internship essay, mainstream settings.

To be compliant with Irish legislation and official policy it is vital that school staff is aware of its responsibilities. I consider that as learning support teacher in a small rural primary school I have a major responsibility in helping the nursing papers principal and other colleagues develop awareness of internship essay, such requirements. Much of this awareness raising is done in an informal, collaborative way through regular discussion and updating of school policy and nursing papers practice. What is Inclusion and how best to achieve it (Question 2 above) Within the internship current literature, definitions of inclusion vary in their focus. On Role Of A Teacher. Some emphasise rights, others values and community while more focus on the capability of the internship essay school to cope with difference and diversity. Onegin Essay. The concept of inclusion replaced the earlier term 'integration', which was used in internship essay the 1980s to refer to the placement of pupils with SEN in mainstream schools. (Winter and Raw, 2010). The Guidelines for Inclusion: Ensuring Access to Education for All (UNESCO 2005, p 13) defines inclusion as: 'a process of addressing and responding to the diversity of needs of all learners through increasing participation in learning, cultures and communities, and reducing exclusion within and from education'. The Centre for Studies in Inclusive Education (CSIE, 2002) presents the view of inclusive education as all pupils, with and without disabilities or difficulties, learning together with the appropriate networks of dissertation philosophie, support. It sees inclusion as enabling all children, regardless of needs and abilities, to participate fully in the life and work of mainstream settings. The British Psychological Society, (2002), emphasises the school's responsibility as it acknowledges the child's right to participate fully in school life and the school's duty to welcome and accept them.

Thus the fundamental principle of internship essay, inclusion is that all children, regardless of any SEN or ability, have the right to be educated together. Farrell and Ainscow, (2002) added that inclusive education is now seen as a human right and challenges all those policies and practices that in the past excluded some children from their right to education. There is considerable debate about full acceptance of inclusion. How To. For example, scholars like Tony Booth and Mel Ainscow (2002), Gary Thomas et al (1998) and Melanie Nind, (2005) arguing from a strong sociological and rights perspective, claim that maximum inclusion and integration of all learners into the mainstream school and classroom is desirable. Arguing from a more psychological and special needs perspective, Braham Norwich (2002) worries about how mainstream settings can always cater for the very specialist needs of some pupils. Internship. Similarly, Lindsay (2007) argues that the research evidence for the effectiveness of inclusion has been described as only marginally positive. Other literature links definitions of inclusion to a process rather than a state. The 1994 UNESCO, Salamanca Statement which promoted inclusive education and viewed children with SEN as an integral part of education, saw inclusion as a process, in that it is concerned with the identification and removal of barriers, as well as the participation and achievement of all children and philosophie especially those most at risk. In agreement with the process theory, Stainback and Stainback (1990) and Ainscow (2005) emphasise the onus on the school to make the appropriate changes to accommodate the internship needs of claims, children with SEN rather than expecting them to fit in to existing structures.

Sebba and Sachdev agree with this definition when they say inclusive education is a process involving changes in internship the way schools are organised, in the curriculum and in essay on role teaching strategies, to accommodate the range of needs and internship essay abilities among pupils. (Sebba and Sachdev, 1997, p.2). If we agree that inclusive education is a whole school endeavour in developing and adapting culture, management, organisation, content and approaches to teaching and learning, to accommodate the educational needs of how to, all children significant changes must be made to the content, delivery and organisation of mainstream programmes. This may be a great challenge for many schools. Griffin and internship Shevlin (2007, p. 81) recognise that a whole school endeavour towards inclusive policies and inclusive educational practices calls for a 'radical restructuring of the educational system to enable all children to participate and achieve within mainstream settings'. Clearly inclusive education looks at both the rights of children, and how education systems can be transformed to respond to its diverse groups of learners. It emphasises the need for opportunities for nursing papers equal participation for children with SEN preferably in a mainstream environment. Essay. My understanding of inclusion from the literature that I have read is that the emphasis on it as a process rather than a state is tipes of essay extremely helpful as such a perspective means that inclusion is never truly won or reached in a school or setting ' rather it is something that is an essay ongoing feature of school life, an ongoing process of enabling all learners participate fully in their learning and a process of recognising the barriers that hinder such participation. Later in essay of a this assignment I focus on some key pedagogic strategies that facilitate the process of inclusion.

Pedagogic Practices for successful Inclusion: Differentiation and Formative Assessment (Question 3 above) If inclusive education is internship essay based on processes, values, rights and principles, then the question is not if inclusion works, but rather how to make it work effectively. If inclusion is a right (and I believe so) then the key question becomes how to make if effective in sur l'amour every classroom and school. This process is concerned with building a supportive learning community and fostering high achievement for all pupils and staff. From the literature reviewed, I draw the internship following implications for teachers in my school: ' understand and acknowledge inclusion as a continuing and evolving process; ' create differentiated learning environments responding to social, emotional, physical and cognitive development; ' provide a broad, relevant, appropriate and stimulating curriculum and adapt it to meet the needs of children with SEN and reduce barriers to learning and participation; ' welcome the ap language and composition essays 2005 participation of all school personnel and engage in appropriate training and professional development; ' restructure cultures, policies and internship practices to respond to the diversity of needs resulting in transparent inclusive policies and practices within the tipes of essay school. In this section of the assignment I focus on pedagogic practices that have been identified in the literature as key to the ongoing process of inclusion.

Two major inter-related ones are differentiation and formative assessment. Differentiation in the mainstream classroom may take many forms depending on the individual learning needs and experiences of children. Commonly used methods of differentiation are by: ' level and pace- children work on a similar topic but at a level and pace dependent on their previous achievements; ' interest- tapping into the children's interests so as to motivate and enhance learning experiences; ' access and essay response- children access and respond to the same curricular content but through a modified means dependent on needs; ' structure- teacher plans small steps of learning for some children, while others are learning blocks of integrated curricular content; ' sequence- accessing different parts of subject content at different times throughout the year; and, ' teaching style- using various approaches and different styles of nursing papers, teaching as well as different forms of internship essay, response. The DES (2007) recognises that teaching all children together in the same classroom doesn't give all children the same opportunities to learn and to tipes of essay, enhance opportunities to learn in an inclusive environment recommends mainstream teachers adopt strategies such as the following: ' use a variety of teaching strategies and approaches; ' explain, refer to and review the learning objective throughout lessons; ' use formative assessment strategies (assessment for learning) to identify progress and use this evidence to inform teaching approaches; ' match the content of lesson to the diverse learning needs and to levels of ability; ' use multi-sensory approaches to learning and teaching; ' provide materials, appropriate to essay, the needs, ages, interests, and aptitudes of the children; ' utilise unexpected learning opportunities even if they vary from the objectives of the lesson; ' allow appropriate time is for practice, reinforcement, and application of new knowledge and skills in practical situations; ' affirm all steps of achievement no matter how small; ' promote opportunities throughout the curriculum for language development and onegin essay communication skills (e.g. listening, speaking, reading, writing); ' provide opportunities throughout the curriculum to develop personal and social skills; ' use homework to consolidate and essay extend, to essay on role of a teacher, promote independent learning, to monitor individual and class progress, and to evaluate the essay effectiveness of onegin essay, teaching and learning. Research from the internship RA4AL (2012) found evidence that pedagogical approaches to benefit all learners might include team teaching, and peer assisted learning ' both strategies have potential for tipes of essay differentiation and formative assessment. Ainscow (1999) believes that successful inclusion implies adapting the internship essay curriculum, teaching methods, materials and procedures and being responsive to the learning needs of the children with SEN ' this is how to claims essentially what differentiation is and what formative assessment affords. Rix et al (2006 and 2009) found in internship essay their research that the most common teaching approach used was the adaptation of how to write, instruction, followed by peer-group interaction and the adaptation of materials. The key findings from essay, a three year systematic review from Rix et al (2009) shows that generic teaching approaches are not always suitable for children with SEN.

This research showed the effectiveness of peer interactive approaches adopted by teachers such as co-operative learning (particularly in relation to the curriculum area of literacy), encompassing elements of social grouping/teamwork, revising and nursing papers adapting the curriculum and internship essay working with a co-operative learning school ethos. Onegin Essay. Peer-group interactive approaches were effective in internship essay academic terms and nursing papers were often effective in terms of social participation and children's attitudes to their learning and their views of their own competence, acceptance and self worth. Teachers are more likely to be effective with all pupils if they use language to internship, deepen understanding, encourage further questioning and link new and prior knowledge. Positive teacher attitudes to inclusion of on role of a teacher, children with SEN are reflected in the quality of their interaction with the children. Teachers who see themselves as responsible for the learning of all promote higher-order interaction, and use questions and statements involving higher-order thinking and reasoning. They offer children the opportunity to problem-solve, to discuss and describe as well as time to make connections with their own prior experiences and understandings. Internship Essay. These strategies deriving from the research evidence affirm the importance of differentiation and formative assessment ' they position the learner has having intentions, having points of view and thoughts about their own learning which are pertinent to incorporation into short essay on role, the curriculum and the pedagogic interactions in the classroom. Such approaches position the learner as influencing their own learning and having some control over what and how they learn- themes that are hugely empowering for all learners especially those who may struggle to participate and find meaning in what is on offer to them in the day to day lessons in the classroom. Differentiation and Formative Assessment as vehicles for inclusion. If all children are to learn together successfully class teachers must make provision and allowances for the varied learning styles and needs of the children.

Effective use of differentiation and internship assessment will support this provision. The National Council for ap language essays Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA, 2007, p. 8) defines differentiation as the 'process of varying content, activities, teaching, learning, methods and resources to take into account the internship essay range of interests, needs and experiences of individual student'. Differentiation applies to all effective teaching but is particularly important for children with SEN. Within any group there will be a wide range of ability and experience. Because children vary in their intellectual and physical capabilities as well as in their motivation, interest, health, and backgrounds teaching practices require flexible approaches, allowing differentiation to provide challenges and successes for all abilities, while accommodating those who are experiencing difficulties as well as those who are in how to write claims need of further challenge. Thus the mainstream teacher differentiates the curriculum to suit the diverse learning needs of the class and adapts and tailors the curriculum to suit individual needs.

In this way the internship learning is structured to meet the learning needs of children who need support and challenges those who are exceptionally able. In planning for differentiation and formative assessment teachers are guided by three key factors: ' what the child knows and can do; ' what the write child needs to know and needs to internship essay, do; and, ' how the child can use assessment feedback to bridge the gap between the above two aspects (this is a definition of formative assessment or assessment for sur l'amour learning) The formulation of an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is an effective way of essay, supporting differentiation on the one hand and using formative assessment on the other. The IEP is developed within the context of the school plan and provides a comprehensive record of the child's learning needs, goals and progress based on formative assessment. It is a working document that is onegin essay useful, available and comprehensible to all those working directly with the child.

Essential elements of planning for internship individual educational needs include: current level of performance; child's strengths and needs; priority needs and long-term learning goals; short-term learning objectives. Implementation of the IEP maximises access to tipes of essay, a broad and balanced curriculum while still catering for the priority need. It also facilitates integration and internship inclusion of the child in group work within the ap language and composition essays class. In my school there is a well established practice of internship, IEP formulation and review by sur l'amour philosophie, teachers and essay this is led by the learning the support teacher (myself). This practice works well for children with SEN but its success depends on appropriate collaboration and essay on role of a dialogue among teachers about the progress and difficulties of individual learners. Bearing in mind the notion of inclusion as a journey and essay not a destination there remains scope to continually improve the implementation of the IEPs in our school. In particular, what I believe requires yet more work and reflection is the extent to which the plans are executed faithfully with detailed recording of progress. Effective planning for and composition future teaching and for differentiation requires accurate assessment of the child's level of achievement. Effective assessment recognises the positive achievements of children and essay informs planning. When used as a part of the teaching and learning process, assessment not only nursing papers, allows teachers to make decisions about differentiation but acknowledges potential, progress and essay achievement.

Formative assessment involves giving feedback so as to learn more effectively in the future (NCCA, 2007 and helps the teacher identify where the children are in their learning, where they need to go next and how best to get there. So it can be a powerful tool in supporting the learning of children with SEN and assesses the effectiveness of planned interventions. Repeated regularly it shows whether or not the strategies and interventions are working. Involving the child with SEN in assessment helps to promote further learning. Discussion with children regarding their individual goals and their progress enables them to be actively involved in ap language 2005 the learning process. The Primary National Strategy (2010) claims that when the children with SEN are involved in assessment they show improvements in aspects such as task application, willingness to participate in lessons and self esteem; communication skills; pupil-teacher relationships as well as reduced dependency and behaviour problems. Essay. Listening to how to write claims, their responses helps to identify the barriers to learning, learning strengths, gaps in learning, what is valued as valid and important learning and the targets that they want to achieve and set for themselves. Daily informal assessment suitable for SEN children could comprise of internship, asking questions and sharing comments; observing their engagement and participation as they work; having discussions and conversations with them, analysing their work and engaging the child to self reflect on the assessment process. Other methods of assessment, recommended by the NCCA (2007), suitable for children with SEN include: ' Teacher-designed tasks and tests; Primary National Strategy (2010) also recommends mixed ability grouping so that a child with SEN has the opportunity to express themselves and learn through listening and observing. Further options that need to be considered by the teacher include grouping by friendship, random and personal interest groups to allow children to sur l'amour, form different relationships or build on different strengths or shared goals.

Paired work helps develop a shared ownership of learning and provides an internship opportunity to take risks. It is also suitable for think/pair/share, snowballing and brainstorming activities. The point here in relation to onegin essay, differentiation and assessment is essay that the teacher needs to consider not just the content and skills to be taught, learned and assessed but needs to think about the emotional, social personal and inter-personal dimension of what is being learned and how it is being learned. This is key for all learners and onegin essay is often a dimension that is marginalised for children with special educational needs as teachers sometimes draw to heavily on drill methods and deny the importance of the more holistic, applied and relational aspects of learning, that above all learners need to experience their learning as meaningful to them in the here and now of their lives. Barriers to Effective Pedagogic Inclusion Practices for in-class support (Question 4) While the internship essay inclusion debate has gathered momentum and there has been great progress regarding inclusion of children with SEN in onegin essay mainstream schooling in a short space of time this has resulted in essay major changes in the roles and responsibilities of teachers and the adaptation of approaches to the curriculum and on role assessment.

Many issues and barriers in the inclusive learning environment have become evident and according to Shevlin, Kenny and Loxley (2008) remain unresolved. Internship. They attribute this partly to the fact that research on inclusion in Ireland is extremely limited. Changes include the development of new understandings of the interactive nature of children's needs and the focus in teaching has moved from philosophie, asking what is wrong with the child to what the essay child needs to support learning ' as befits a rights based perspective as outlined already in this assignment. This brings great implications for how teachers are trained and supported in their professional development. Effective inclusive practices are constrained by barriers and challenges such as inadequate time, training, funding, professional support services, curriculum issues and sur l'amour philosophie maintaining standards in the basic subjects. Shevlin et al, (cited in NCSE 2009) identified inadequacies in training at under-graduate, post-graduate and in-service training as the most cited constraints causing the later lack of progress in the implementation of IEPs. At whole school level, time constraints impeded administration, paperwork and correction of homework, developing policy, staff liaison and collaboration, collaborative planning, liaising with parents and the development of the IEPs as well as development of inclusive practices through training days, staff meetings and essay in-service. Onegin Essay. At classroom level, while struggling to deliver the curriculum teachers lacked time to internship essay, focus on differentiation as an approach to successful and effective inclusion. In inclusion of SEN children in mainstream schooling teachers play a central role in nursing papers promoting participation and reducing underachievement. However according to Flatman-Watson's 2009 research/survey 34% of Dublin primary schools blamed lack of teacher expertise and appropriately trained staff for denying or deferring placements for children with intellectual and/or pervasive developmental disability.

Ring and Travers (2005) support these findings and essay show that teachers also feel specialist pedagogy and teaching approaches are required. Research from Coffey (2004) found teacher expertise is vital for matching the teaching approaches closely to the individual learning needs of the child with SEN so they can engage meaningfully in the same curriculum as their peers. Shevlin, Kenny and Loxley (2008) show that the policy documents call for appropriate training and professional development for teachers. Even though great financial resources have been allocated to the inclusion of children with SEN, and the DES established the Special Education Support Service (SESS) in 2003 with the remit of delivering professional development initiatives and support structures for teachers this aspect seems to have been neglected. Drudy and Kinsella's (2009) study showed evidence of the perception of a lack of initial teacher training for SEN as well as a lack of effective continual professional development (CPD) for practising teachers. This confirms the NCSE (2009) report that acknowledges that teachers are more resistant to adopting inclusive practices when they experience a lack of nursing papers, confidence in personal instruction, skills and availability of resources and essay inadequate professional development. A project, RA4AL (2012) highlighted the same issues suggesting that teachers should be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to be able to help all children learn.

Gash (2006) reports positively that the introduction of tipes of essay, differentiated learning and curriculum management and delivery are likely to benefit the skills of new teachers. Shevlin, Kenny and Loxley (2008) see no substitute for well-informed teachers and a knowledgeable school and view this oversight as contributing to internship essay, the negative attitudes among teachers to inclusion and perhaps to the school's unwillingness to enrol children with SEN. Shevlin, Kenny and Loxley show that teachers were generally supportive of inclusive education and that they see positive teacher attitudes as being beneficial for all learners especially in the area of socialisation skills. Drudy and Kinsella's (2009) discovered that in the majority of Irish schools changes in the school ethos, culture and practices have still to be realised. They also identified other barriers such as: the physical limitations of school buildings and classrooms, the attitudes of all personnel within and associated with the school and and composition essays 2005 the lack of opportunities for collaborative problem solving in relation to effective inclusion of children with SEN. Research from Ainscow (1999) in distinguishing between integration and inclusion shows that the main problem area within inclusion of SEN in education is the equality of access to resources, particular schools, particular classes or particular subjects.

Coffey, (2004) and internship Ring and Travers (2005) identify time to adapt the essay on role teacher curriculum and engage in collaborative planning between teachers to be another barrier. Essay. Over reliance on withdrawal methods of tuition rather than in-class support and team teaching reduces opportunities to collaborate. Class size is also in and composition 2005 evidence as a contributory barrier to essay, successful collaboration. The challenge therefore is to help schools progress on the inclusion journey for the benefit of the tipes of essay child with SEN as well as for the whole school community. Conclusion and Final Reflection on Own School Context. A number of messages emerge from internship essay, my reading of the relevant literature all of onegin essay, which point to the need to essay, carefully consider themes of pedagogy and tipes of essay assessment: 1. The importance to maximise the learning of all children on internship essay the grounds of societal well being and the promotion of a cohesive society; 2. How To Write. The importance to maximise the essay learning of all children on the grounds that individuals have rights to education on an equal basis to their peers. 3. Inclusion is onegin essay not a state or a destination, it is essay more a process and a journey. The third point above has major implications for practice in my school. It highlights the issue of recognising and addressing barriers to inclusion and for me it highlights the issue of the particular pedagogic strategies that should feature on the inclusion journey.

Two of these as described above are differentiation and assessment (especially formative assessment). In summary, to promote effective teaching and learning for children with SEN in inclusive settings teachers need to hone their professional skills in relation to differentiation and formative assessment. Fundamental to this is the need to: ' recognise their responsibility for all abilities in their class; ' recognise social interaction as an sur l'amour effective approach to learning; ' plan to scaffold both cognitive and social learning and content; ' carefully plan group work with clearly defined roles; ' explore children's understanding, encourage questioning and make constant links between new and prior knowledge; ' work on (basic) skills in a holistic way, embedded in classroom activity and subject knowledge; ' utilise pupils as resources for learning e.g. peer group assessment, self assessment, target setting together for IEPs; ' use activities which the internship essay learner finds meaningful; ' use a range of different modalities, visual, auditory, verbal and kinaesthetic, practical and 'hands-on' approaches (modified from the NCSE 2009). One of the more recent positive policy initiatives is the onegin essay extension of the period of training at initial teacher education stage so that now trainee teachers have more time to engage with the challenges and issues associated with inclusion practices. There is internship also a move on the part of the Teaching Council to require teachers to engage in CPD on tipes of essay an ongoing basis. Such changes in policy will surely mitigate some of the challenges and barriers noted above in the research literature and essay can only enhance inclusive practice in schools.

With more particular reference to my own school currently and bearing in mind the literature just discussed, especially the evidence of the need for greater CPD and challenging of tipes of essay, professional mindsets in relation to in-class inclusion, there are a number of implications and recommendations worth emphasising. Much depends on the skill of the learning resource teacher to work with and alongside colleagues to enable all learners participate fully in their learning. By working alongside other teachers to support differentiation and to lead and support formative assessment of internship, individual learners and groups of learners, teamwork and shared responsibility for all learners can be gradually become part of the taken for granted culture of the school. Dissertation Sur L'amour Philosophie. By demonstrating and enacting differentiation practices in the public arena of the classroom practitioners can learn to share their own practices and essay 'deprivatize' their own practices thus putting practice on the table for discussion and claims review in a secure and collaborative climate of professional dialogue and sharing. The kind of staff conversations about internship essay, inclusion have implications for practice. Thinking can be challenged and nursing papers shared through professional conversations and by such conversations and reflection a new language for inclusion can be evolved and made common place. From new thinking stems new practices and internship essay evaluation of practices.

Full participation of learners in their learning is also related to and composition, full participation of teachers in their learning ' both go hand in hand in enabling an inclusive culture at any school level. Life and Debt: Jamaica and the Imf Essay Sample. Through the eyes of essay Westerners taking holidays on the beautiful beaches of Jamaica, most will only be exposed to the bountiful sunshine constantly spraying across their faces, the perfect turquoise tropic waters surrounding the island, and the rich fruit that tastes so fresh it leaves you feeling as if it must have been picked off the tree only mere moments ago. In Life and Debt, the film portrays Jamaica from two substantially clashing views. First, it is highlighted as a perfect vacation spot. It shows how rich the country is in tourism and how ideal the ocean-front property surrounding the island truly is. However, the film counters the natural beauty of Jamaica with the essay teacher, harsh realization of the widespread unrelenting veracity of poverty that grips this small island nation. When Jamaica was granted its independence from Great Britain, the tiny nation lacked sufficient economic strength to survive on its own. Throughout the time Great Britain ruled over essay the island, she had taken Jamaicas ample natural resources in the name of the Crown. Economically, when a nation does not have enough natural resources to survive, the philosophie, situation turns very bitter in internship, a short amount of dissertation time. Jamaica soon realized they were not able to essay, finance what was needed to meet the needs of tipes of essay its citizens.

Jamaica sought financial assistance through the private banking system, but was denied repeatedly. The country had no choice but to resort to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to borrow money from. The IMFs role is that of essay a helping hand. As per Jamaica and the IMFs agreement, the IMF established a five-year plan with Jamaica. This included the essay teacher, placement of stringent restrictions on what the tiny nation could spend the money on. As the Jamaicans slowly realized, this deal would serve them no purpose, except indebting the nation even further.

The island was forced to cut certain government programs and devalue their currency to meet IMF demands. Jamaica was essentially bullied into internship essay expanding imports and diminishing exports. The islands debt keeps rising and the capacity to export their own goods is becoming alarmingly reduced as time advances. In this never ending cycle, Jamaica is repeatedly forced to ask for loans, which the IMF and the island know that they cannot afford to repay. Since Jamaica cant repay these loans, it is forced to take out onegin essay different loans to finance the past balances and to meet the essay, countrys current fiscal demands. Onegin Essay. With every new loan, come harsher and essay, harsher impositions due to Jamaica being forced to breach the previous loans agreement in order to attain the new funding from the IMF.

This process is in a perpetual circle of a cycle and will not cease until the tipes of essay, IMF decides to cut the impoverished nation off and deny further loans. As Jamaica and the IMF both realize, when the IMF decides to cease the flow of internship essay capital to Jamaica, the tiny nation will still be forced to follow certain stringent economic policies the IMF desires the nation to philosophie, abide by. Internship. These restrictions will undoubtedly harm Jamaicas economic outlook for several years to come. The Jamaican Situation. Life and tipes of essay, Debt showcases how the IMFs harsh restrictions on the Jamaican economy are affecting the normal citizens of the island. In nearly every situation presented, the individual is facing extreme disrepair and is losing hope on a daily basis. These limitations that are being artificially imposed on the Jamaican economy are severely damaging a broad range of traditional industries across the nation. Internship Essay. The IMFs investments have brought about the near extinction of essays a once thriving dairy industry. In its place, is the severely under-priced, powdered milk industry that is heavily subsidized by the United States. Jamaica was once home to essay, proud farmers and a prosperous agriculture industry.

This, too, has greatly decayed as an influx of cheap produce is shipped from the U.S. The prices are so low that the local farmers can no longer compete with the giant multinational corporations that are sending the discount produce into how to write claims Jamaica. At one point during the film, an IMF spokesman blatantly suggests that Jamaicans completely give up on their rich history of producing fresh bountiful produce and internship, solely focus their arable lands on tipes of essay, the production of peppers. And if that fails, they always have tourism, says the IMF. Since adoption of the demands mandated by the IMF, the Jamaican economy and citizens have become a dumping ground for cheap goods. For example, the poultry industry sends shiploads of internship essay US consumer rejected dark meat parts to the island at a fraction of the cost compared to ap language 2005, local grown, high-quality poultry. In addition to being forced to purchase cheap products comes the accompanying risk of internship receiving goods not fit for human consumption. In Life and Debt, a shipment of chicken that was estimated to have been frozen for over 28 years was sent to the island. When it was discovered, the shipper claimed that it was all a big mistake and that the load was actually supposed to have been shipped to dissertation, Haiti. The owners requested the shipment be released and sent on its way, but the Jamaicans did not release it due to the risk of the internship essay, meat being sent for human consumption. The economic restrictions the IMF places on Jamaican imports and exports were not enough to satisfy the demands of the IMF.

In addition to short of a, the aforementioned burdens placed upon the Jamaican economy, the IMF endorsed the internship, establishment of Jamaican Free Zones. These zones were put into place in 1976. Onegin Essay. The Free Zones were designed to encourage foreign investment and international trade within Jamaica. Businesses operating within these zones are responsible for no tax on their profits, and essay, are further exempted from customs duties on imports and exports for all areas of production. They are also completely exempt from import licensing requirements. However, these businesses must export 85 percent of their products outside of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) according to the IMF agreement. Dissertation. Thousands of Jamaican women, with little of prospect for employment, work long hours in harsh conditions within Jamaicas Free Zones. Many western corporations use the cheap labor these workers provide to assemble the imported materials into expensive products that are shipped immediately to outside markets.

The workers in essay, the Free zones average a wage of only $30 per week. These free zones provide no economic growth to nursing papers, the Jamaican government or the citizens within. These Free Zones are essentially viewed as not even being part of the island, but as independent land plots not under Jamaican authority. The Free Trade Conundrum. Free Trade is essentially defined as international trade that is free of such government interference as import quotas, export subsidies, and protective tariffs. The concept of free trade is one that is steeped in opinions on both sides of the question. Free trade can work if it is truly free in nature. Essay. That seems to and composition, be the internship, problem with all nations that are having issues with the adoption of sur l'amour philosophie this economic policy. In that same regard, it is not necessarily the countrys fault that they are struggling with the realization of the benefits of free trade.

Fault is mainly within the countrys that are promoting the internship, idea of free trade. These established countries are causing problems for the newly adopting countries. As displayed throughout Life and Debt, Jamaica is struggling with the idea of nursing papers free trade due to the fact that the industries the country has historically been prosperous within are struggling to adapt to the complex and ever-changing demands of the global economy. Having said that, the IMF is choking what little life the Jamaican economy once had by imposing the import and export restrictions on Jamaica. By flooding the Jamaican market with cheap produce, cheap dairy products and cheap processed meats, the IMF is literally choking the life out of the Jamaican farmers and the people. These individuals cannot directly compete with the prices of the multinational corporations and are slowly being driven from essay existence. By keeping Jamaicas economy as being heavily reliant on imports and not allowing them the benefits of exporting goods, the IMF has literally enslaved the small island nation. If the IMF would ease restrictions placed upon the island, adopt a policy of limited debt forgiveness in combination with a refinancing package and thus made terms more favorable for the struggling Jamaican economy, growth could occur and some industries could be saved. However, the IMF will never cease their continued interference through the use of export limitations, the promotion of an import-heavy economy, and the reimplementation of certain protective tariffs that the Jamaican economy needs in order to compete with multinational corporations. Essays 2005. The execution of essay these things could save the Jamaican economy, and at sur l'amour philosophie, the very least, it could improve certain economic indicators to boost the financial system within Jamaica. Conflicting Views of the essay, IMF.

The views of the World Bank and the IMF severely conflict with the views presented in Life and tipes of essay, Debt. The official aim of the World Bank is essentially maintaining the responsibility for financing economic development. The World Banks lone purpose is to promote economic and social progress in developing countries by helping to raise productivity so that citizens of the world may live a better life. The IMF was designed as a voluntary and cooperative institution. It attempts to equalize economic practices that are injurious to internship, the overall economic well-being of fellow member nations and minimize the damages caused by these practices. The rule of the institution is essentially that it requires members to and composition 2005, allow their currency to be exchanged for foreign currencies freely and without restriction. The members must keep the essay, IMF informed of changes they contemplate in financial and monetary policies that will affect fellow members economies. In addition to these rules, members must modify these policies on the advice of the IMF to accommodate the onegin essay, needs of the entire membership as a whole.

The IMF demands frequent reports on members economic policies and prospects. They will, in turn, debate, comment on, and communicate to the entire membership so that other members may respond in full knowledge of the facts and a clear understanding of essay how their own domestic policies may affect other countries. The IMF is convinced that an essential condition for international prosperity is a systematic monetary system that will promote trade, create jobs, expand economic activity, and raise living standards throughout the world. In Life and Debt, The IMF is portrayed as accomplishing exactly the opposite of their stated intentions within Jamaica. Since adoption of the tipes of essay, guidelines put forth by the IMF, poverty has been widespread, industries have been severely damaged, and citizens vitality has been ruined. These facts completely undermine the purpose the IMF/ World Bank purportedly serve. In my view, the IMF and internship, World Bank attempt to perform the tipes of essay, best they can, but their methods and guidelines are extremely flawed in essay, relation to their assistance with struggling economies. Life and Debt offers an informative look at the current state of the Third World within the Caribbean as these economies struggle through the ap language and composition 2005, post-colonial world and trek their way into the global economy.

The film also portrays the internship, vast amount of power and influence that is exerted by tipes of essay the IMF and World Bank. The smaller economies of the world are essentially under economic control of the IMF and World Bank and therefore must conform to the strict demands set forth by these institutions. Although the IMF and World Bank advertise their selves as out to help struggling economies, the proof of internship essay their help has yet to be displayed. These institutions cause more long-term harm to the economies of the countries who seek their assistance. In addition to essentially losing sovereignty over their economy, Jamaican politicians must also conform to the will of the International bankers that basically own the local economy. Short Essay On Role Teacher. In conclusion, as far as globalization is concerned, the IMF and World Bank hamper the benefits that globalization allows the world by imposing their own set of protective tariffs upon their investments. These organizations are essentially being given control of small economies to use to their advantage and the submissive governments in need of assistance can do little to counter the strength of the IMF and essay, World Bank.
